    How it works

    1. Add your JPG, PNG or WebP image.
    2. Leave the target at 50 KB, or change it.
    3. Check the before and after preview, press the button and download the smaller image.

    A practical size for photos

50 KB is a common limit for passport-style photos on application forms. It is enough for a clear face at modest pixel dimensions, provided the picture is not huge to begin with.

If your photo is a full-size phone picture, the tool will shrink it as needed. If the form also specifies dimensions in pixels, run Resize Image first so the proportions come out right.

    Frequently asked questions

Will my photo still be clear at 50 KB?

Usually yes for a head-and-shoulders photo at a modest size. Busy or very detailed pictures lose more detail, so crop out empty background before you compress.

    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, and you can confirm that in your browser's network tab. Close the tab and they're gone.

How does it reach the size I asked for?

It tries different quality levels and keeps the best-looking one that fits under your limit. If quality alone is not enough and "Allow resizing" is on, it also shrinks the picture in small steps until it fits.

Why is my result a little under the target?

We aim just below your limit on purpose. We also count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the file passes upload forms that count either 1,000 or 1,024 bytes per KB.

Which formats can I save as?

JPG (works everywhere) or WebP (smaller at the same quality, but a few older apps cannot open it). PNG is lossless, so it cannot be squeezed to a size by lowering quality. Pick JPG or WebP for size limits.

    Will the image look blurry?

A very small target forces heavy compression, so photos may look softer. Simple images such as signatures compress well. If the result is too rough, raise the limit a little or use Resize Image first.

Can I process several images at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like (up to 50). Each one is processed on its own, and you download them together as a ZIP.

Is there a file size limit?

Each file can be up to 100 MB, and up to 300 MB in total. Because the work happens on your device, very large files depend on your available memory. A desktop browser handles them best.
