How it looks

Fill in the details and your QR code appears here.

Scan the code with your phone before you print it or share it. It is made on your device, and nothing you type is sent or saved anywhere.

How it works

  1. Choose what the code holds: a link or text, UPI payment, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, phone number, email or contact card.
  2. Fill in the details. The QR code appears and updates as you type. Change the size, colours and error correction if you like.
  3. Scan it with your phone to check it, then download the PNG or the SVG.

Good codes scan every time

Use dark squares on a light background, keep the white border, and do not stretch or squash the picture. Colours are fine as long as the squares are clearly darker than the background; the page warns you when they are not. For anything printed, scan the printed copy with a phone before you make a hundred of them.

Frequently asked questions

What can a QR code hold?

A web link, any text, a UPI payment request, the details of a Wi-Fi network, a WhatsApp chat link, a phone number, an email, or a contact card. Scanning it with the phone camera opens the right app, or joins the network, or fills in the payment.

How much can I put in one code?

Up to about 2,900 characters, but a short code scans much better than a long one. Shorter links make simpler codes with bigger squares, which are easier to scan from a distance and when printed small.

Will it work with Hindi and other languages?

Yes. Text is stored as Unicode, so Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and other scripts, and the rupee sign, come out exactly as typed.

Is what I type sent or saved anywhere?

No. The QR code is drawn in your browser from what you type, and nothing is sent to a server or stored, not even in your browser. Close the tab and it is gone, so download the code before you leave.

Will the QR code expire, or stop working?

No. The code holds the information itself, so it works for as long as that information is right: a link that is still live, a Wi-Fi password that has not changed. There is no account behind it and no tracking, so it cannot be switched off.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is a picture that works everywhere: use it for documents, social media and messages. SVG stays perfectly sharp at any size, so use it for banners, boards and anything printed large. Choose the Print size for PNG if you will print it.

How big should I print it?

At least 2 by 2 centimetres, and bigger if people will scan from a distance (about one tenth of the distance). Keep the white border around the code, and print dark squares on a light background. Always scan the printed code with a phone before you use it.

What does the error correction setting do?

A QR code carries extra data so it can still be read when part of it is dirty or damaged. Higher levels survive more damage but make the code denser, with smaller squares. Medium suits almost everything; choose High for a print that may get scuffed.
