    How it works

    1. Add your JPG images.
    2. Adjust the quality if you like, then press the button.
    3. Download your WebP files (several arrive as a ZIP).

    Why convert JPG to WebP

WebP files are typically noticeably smaller than JPG at a similar visual quality. That helps pages load faster, which is why many website owners convert their images.

All current browsers display WebP, but a few older apps and some upload forms do not accept it. Keep your original JPG if you might need it elsewhere.

    Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will the file be?

It depends on the picture, but WebP is usually clearly smaller than a JPG of similar quality. Try the default 92%, then lower it if you want even smaller files.

    Can everyone open WebP files?

All modern browsers can. Some older software and a few websites still expect JPG or PNG, so keep the original in case you need it.

    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, and you can confirm that in your browser's network tab. Close the tab and they're gone.

Can I process several images at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like (up to 50). Each one is processed on its own, and you download them together as a ZIP.

Is there a file size limit?

Each file can be up to 100 MB, and up to 300 MB in total. Because the work happens on your device, very large files depend on your available memory. A desktop browser handles them best.
